What are mountain bike camps?
Mountain biking is riding a bicycle over off-road trails rather than paved roads. Such trails may be narrow and include hills, uneven terrain, and obstacles such as roots and rocks. The camps include a series of group rides, with several mini-clinics included, aimed at progressively increasing rider knowledge and abilities. These camps are aimed towards Trail, XC, and All-mountain Enduro. Many of the same skillsets may then be applied towards advanced clinics, downhill, freeride and jumping. Coaching progression includes the brake modulation, gearing & cadence, safe bike handling while cornering, climbing and descending over differing levels of terrain, and advancing balance work and maneuvers. Trail etiquette and teamwork, and most of all, fun riding our local trails!
Which camp should I sign up for?
Appropriate ages are listed with each camp- there may be some leeway depending on the rider's abilities. All riders should consider attending the first Spring camp, as this will offer a natural progression of both fitness and skills. The number of riders in each camp is limited. Sign up early to ensure coach availability and placement in the camp. PMBIA certified coaching available. All riders must already be comfortable riding their bike and have the required equipment (see below). All riders should also have some experience riding in more confined areas, such as off-road singletrack trails with small obstacles.
Contact us about Junior Coach opportunities! 208-304-3603
